This is extremely humbling coming from one of the most well-respected artists in the game. I remember purchasing any and all DJ Neil Armstrong mixtapes from boutiques on both coasts. His mixtapes illustrate the beauty of hip hop music and the art's innovative use of sampling early on. In his mixtapes, you have the opportunity to hear where the artists sample and inspiration originated from. I actually gave my girl a "Warmfuzzy" CD a few years back as part of her Valentine's Day gift...furreal. It kept me from having to put together a mixtape myself. Plus, I can't do it as well as DJ Neil Armstrong, so I figured, why even try.

The mixtapes are creative, sentimental, humorous, and bring a smile to peoples faces upon every listen. DJ Neil Armstrong is not ashamed to include the guilty pleasures either, whether it's New Edition or Hall & Oates. Really...it's perfectly fine...if it's good enough for your favorite hip hop artist to sample, well...

No Rival will be exhibiting at the World of Dance event in San Mateo this Saturday from 3:00 pm – 12:00 am. The headliners for this show are Supreme Soul and Quest from MTV's America's Best Dance Crew, Seasons 2 and 3 respectively.
